Hydrium Trippy - Moiré Edition
Introducing the latest experiment in our Hydrium collection, the Hydrium Trippy. While the Hydrium line includes serious professional divers such as the Hydrium Pro Nordblad and colourful pop culture designs like the Will Return or Exit editions, the Trippy takes a more playful and complex turn, combining the reliability of a diver’s tool watch with an unexpected Moiré dial experience.
Why Moiré?
The dial of the Trippy is no mere backdrop. By layering patterns, we created a true Moiré effect, a subtle optical dance that changes every second, every minute and every hour. The texture is never static. Your watch dial comes alive, turning into a kinetic graphic that brings a smile even while you are timing a dive or a project with the Mushroom hands.
Mushrooms, mischief, and inspiration
Mushrooms have a long legacy as symbols of altered states, wonder and mischievous glamour. We borrowed this spirit not to glamorise anything irresponsible but to celebrate a mindset of curiosity and discovery.
In the hit series The Studio (Season 1, Episode 9, “CinemaCon”), the characters played by Zoë Kravitz, Bryan Cranston and Seth Rogen accidentally consume a generous amount of mushrooms at a party, creating one of the funniest scenes in recent television. The story was inspired by Seth Rogen’s real-life experience of unknowingly eating a large amount of mushrooms before a podcast interview.
We nodded to that same spirit of playful confusion for the Trippy. The dial is designed to surprise, evoke curiosity, and remind us that even ordinary moments can become extraordinary. But unlike the show, you do not need to ingest anything. The Trippy offers all the fun you need, even in the dark.
The diver’s DNA remains intact
This is still Hydrium at heart, built with the same robust case, 300m of water resistance, and a Swiss-made La Joux-Perret movement with a 68-hour power reserve. The fun is on the surface, but the substance beneath remains true to our diver’s heritage.
Limited to 20 “doses”
To keep the magic rare, the Hydrium Trippy is limited to only 20 pieces worldwide. Each one is individually numbered.
Join us on this playful side of dive-watching. Wear it confidently, enjoy the living dial, and remember that the Trippy will give you all the fun you need.
