Lord Fauntleroy Snooty, Esq.
Baby Boomer, Lord 🎩 Fauntleroy Snooty first dabbled in art during the pre-punk era, before life took one of its curious turns and found him spraying packing crates for the British Army at Greenham Common. From there, he made the rather more conventional leap into banking — a career that proved both substantial and suitably respectable, until the lure of creativity proved too strong to resist.
Upon retiring, Snooty stumbled across this “newfangled” thing called the Internet and, with it, the world of Urban Street Art. After immersing himself in the modern scriptures Exit Through the Gift Shop and Bomb It, he re-emerged in 2013 with renewed purpose and a spray can in hand, setting his sights on the streets of Shoreditch and Hoxton.
His 2015 work on the Shoreditch Art Wall caught the eye of the Financial Times, Street Art Weekly, and Street Art Germany. Even the venerable Gilbert & George were spotted strolling by. That same year, Snooty’s six submissions to the SSOSVA Christmas Show in Ealing sold out entirely — “red-dotted” in record time — amid rumours that Banksy himself might appear (he didn’t, but the forums were delighted nonetheless).
From East to West London, Soho to Los Angeles, Snooty’s works have graced galleries, TV screens — including Million Dollar Listing — and, quite discreetly, a number of Beverly Hills mansions whose famous owners prefer to remain unnamed.
After a brief escapade at Glastonbury — posting stickers in Hospitality and fraternising with the Chemical Brothers — Snooty was overheard announcing:
“Ladies and gentlemen, I’m off! You wait ’til I’m dead — you’ll see I was right!”
Naturally, no one quite believes him. His agent & mentor insists it’s merely another of his cunning plans — word has it, he’s already plotting a surprise appearance at Art Basil.
The Hydrium Snooty
Against the advice of several sensible people, Lord Fauntleroy Snooty has agreed to place his name on a dive watch.
This marks his first collaboration with Isotope, a brand that understands the importance of doing things properly while appearing not to care at all. The result is a fully capable Swiss-made Hydrium, discreetly misbehaving beneath the surface and entirely unapologetic about it.
Produced in a strictly unnecessary limitation of 20 pieces, the Hydrium Snooty has already attracted rumours. Snooty insists this is a one-off. His agent refuses to comment. We have heard this before.
A future classic, or an expensive misunderstanding. Possibly both. Take one. Say nothing.
