The Isotope Moonshot Chronograph Thunderclap captures the drama of a storm in mechanical form. Limited to just 30 pieces worldwide, this special edition introduces a striking new visual direction to the Moonshot platform and marks a milestone for the brand: the first Isotope chronograph to feature a telemeter scale.
Developed in collaboration with Matt Smith-Johnson, known as Teenage Grandpa, Thunderclap combines proven Moonshot architecture with a bold new aesthetic language.
A Collaboration with Teenage Grandpa
The Moonshot Chronograph Thunderclap was created together with artist and designer Matt Smith-Johnson (Teenage Grandpa), whose fearless visual style and instinct for the unexpected made him a natural partner for reinterpreting the Moonshot.

The result is a Moonshot that feels sharper and more expressive, while remaining faithful to the architecture collectors already appreciate.
A Storm in Grey and Purple
Thunderclap retains the full technical platform of the Moonshot while introducing a new visual language.
The case is crafted from sandblasted Grade 5 titanium, presented without DLC coating so the metal’s natural character remains visible.
The dial creates a striking interplay of texture and colour:
• Grey embossed dimple dial, evoking charged storm clouds
• Metallic purple Moondisc sub-dials that shimmer as light moves across them
• Purple chronograph pushers delivering a vivid flash of colour on the case flank

Introducing the Telemeter Scale
The Moonshot Chronograph Thunderclap introduces the first telemeter scale ever used on an Isotope watch.
Historically, telemeters were used to measure the distance between a visible event and the sound it produces. By starting the chronograph when lightning appears and stopping it when thunder is heard, the scale indicates how far away the storm is.
A scale born from science, speed, and instinct.
Perfectly suited to a watch called Thunderclap.

The Moonshot Chronograph Thunderclap is available in two configurations:
£2,400 (plus UK VAT) – Purple FKM rubber strap
£2,720 (plus UK VAT) – Purple FKM rubber strap and matching titanium bracelet
The titanium bracelet will also be available separately for collectors who wish to add it later.
With production strictly limited to 30 pieces worldwide, availability is expected to be extremely limited.

Ordering from and outside the U.K.
If you’re not based in the U.K. you'll probably need to pay import tax/duty when buying a watch (or any product) from Isotope Watches and other U.K.-based brands
Brexit changed the rules and since the 1st of January 2021, this also includes all countries within the European Community.
Prices within the U.K.
For customers in the U.K., all watches/products are priced including 20% of U.K. VAT.
As an example, if our watch is priced at £1,000, U.K. customers will need to pay £1,200 (£1,000 + £200 (20% VAT)
Prices outside the U.K.
For customers based outside the U.K., all watches/products are priced excluding U.K. VAT.
Your IP address will determine the prices you see on our website, but if for any reason you see prices including U.K. VAT, the prices will be updated at checkout, depending on your shipping address.
Isotope Watches Limited will not charge VAT when exporting, but you will certainly be asked to pay import duty and/or tax/VAT by your customs country.
How to pay for import duty/tax
We ship most of our products/watches via DHL Express. As per customs request, DHL will calculate the duty and taxes and they will collect the payment on behalf of your country's customs.
Neither Isotope Watches Limited nor DHL has control or profit over these costs/taxes.
How much do I need to pay in duty/tax to receive my watch?
It depends on the country you are based in.
Please see the examples below based on a £1,000 watch. These values are only a reference as they vary depending on the watch cost, and they might not be updated.
