š„ Scotches & Watches: A Night to Remember in Montreal
June 26, 2025 ā Montreal, QCĀ
On a warm summer evening in a western suburb of Montreal, a cozy Irish pub became the epicenter of horological conversation, community, and celebration. The inaugural Scotches & Watches event brought together collectors, enthusiasts, and curious newcomers for a memorable night of fine timepieces, great whisky, and even better company.
š°ļø A Microbrand Showcase With Character
The event featured a curated selection of standout independent watch brands:
-
Micromilspec
-
Sunrex Watches
-
Vario Everyday
-
Isotope Watches
Each brand brought something unique to the table, from tactical precision to neo-vintage charm, but it was Isotope Watches that truly stole the spotlight.
ā Isotope Takes Center Stage
With their bold design language, creative dials, and unapologetically independent spirit, Isotope generated palpable excitement among attendees. From the unmistakable Hydrium series to more recent releases, their watches sparked plenty of hands-on wrist time, questions, and admiration.
The event also marked a special occasion: the first public appearance of Marc Levesque, akaĀ @marctime2watch, as North American Brand Director for Isotope Watches. Marcās presence drew considerable interest, as he shared insight into the brandās philosophy, future plans, and what collectors can expect next.
āThe response tonight was incredible,ā Marc noted. āMontreal has a thriving, passionate watch community, and it was great to finally connect in person with so many collectors whoāve followed Isotope for years, or discovered us for the first time.ā
š» A Packed Pub Full of Passion
Despite the venueās intentionally intimate setting, a charming Irish pub nestled in a quiet neighborhood, the turnout far exceeded expectations. Collectors from local Facebook groups, Instagram followers, and even a few curious passersby filled the space. Watches were passed around, drams were poured, and friendships were formed over shared obsessions with lume, case profiles, and bezels.
āEvents like these are what the watch world needs more of,ā said one guest. āItās not about hype, itās about connection, and finding your people.ā
šø Wristshots, Scotch, and Stories
Throughout the night, guests were treated to:
-
Side-by-side comparisons of indie models rarely seen in the wild
-
One-on-one time with brand reps and fellow collectors
-
A curated whisky menu to complement the eveningās relaxed, convivial vibe
The atmosphere was unpretentious, welcoming, and buzzing with genuine curiosity. Whether it was your first microbrand or your fiftieth, there was something to discover-and someone new to meet.
š§ Looking Ahead
If the success of Scotches & Watches is any indication, this wonāt be the last time Montrealās watch community gathers in person. With Isotope now having a stronger presence in North America, and growing support for independent brands, expect even more local meetups, pop-ups, and collector-driven events in the months to come.
To stay in the loop, follow @marctime2watch, @isotopewatches, and @isotopewatchesna on Instagram, and maybe start brushing up on your whisky notes, just in case.
Until next time, cheers to good watches, good people, and a good pour. š„
